Willow and I met through our friend, Milan Seth. Connor O’Niel’s is an Irish pub in Ann Arbor. They host an annual party honoring Tom Petty called the Petty Party. In 2019, our friend Milan called me and asked if I’d like to sing the Stevie Nicks parts to some Tom Petty duets with him and his band. I LOVE Stevie Nicks and had my outfit planned before we were off the phone. Then I panicked about whether or not I could sing Stevie Nicks’s parts, but I started practicing and it went well. That band was the Cool Birds and their drummer was Willow.

Willow was out of town for the first rehearsal that I attended but Milan and I went to her house to rehearse the following week. She made me feel at ease. After we played, we all sat in the living room and talked for quite a while. Well, Willow and I talked about everything, it felt like. We connected as friends immediately.
